Onions, Garlic and Mushrooms

Hi Stacey! Just wanted to say hello and thanks for your onions, garlic and mushrooms tip. Right now I am eating chicken cooked in that, with acorn squash and eggplant on the side. It’s pretty yummy. Anyhow, hope you are doing well! I have been climbing more ever since climbing with you and Alyssa, though all of it has been indoors!

Coach

Hi Stacey, Thanks to Alyssa and Felix for the wonderful photos of your birthday party. I enjoyed our birthday visit too. The cooking was fun and the flavor a pleasure. I have been practising my badmitton serve since you again annihilated me on the court. I do take some solace in the fact I am improving and did not literally fall down on the court like our adult male relatives did when you beat them all without even breaking a sweat or your stride at the summer games. And the sauna night was so fun and funny when someone was stranded towelbound with her glasses locked in the locker trying to braile the lock open as you giggled to my, I mean her, rescue. One of the best memories is the delightful scene of you teaching the children. How cute, adorable and precious when one by one took pride in saying “bye coach”. Love, Mom

Climbing the Mountain of Youth

Hi Stacey! I had a lot of fun at the Climbing the Mountain of Youth party. I posted a write-up and some photos here. Happy b-day!

Thanks again for picking me up at the CalTrain station on that day to go to Cragmont. I will be going back to Colorado on Tuesday but maybe I can stop by Belmont Sunday. Still trying to figure out my schedule for the weekend. In the meantime, take care and talk to you soon! -Felix

Happy Birthday to You

Hi Stacey,

Have a great birthday. Hope it is perfect all day long.

Wasn’t the Kentucky trip wonderful? You were so busy with your events. It would have been great to have had a few extra days so you could have had time to hike some of those beautiful trails with us. They were awesome. We saw a lot of wildlife. I guess the hike I remember most is when Sherry and I, and Princess, got completely lost in the pouring rain. Our trail map even got soaked and fell apart. The Princess was never so dirty! It didn’t bother her a bit. In fact I think she enjoyed it. Her family was rather alarmed when they saw her.

I tried to send you a great big email, but it came back. Give me your new email address and I will re-send the letter.

Love and Kisses, Auntie Marion

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Hi Sis!

Happy Birthday! I woke up thinking about you today, but it is way too early to call you. I’ll call tonight. I hope you have a wonderful day and weekend.

Lots of love from all of us,

Denise, Jerry, Sophia, and Mia

Hi

This is my first time posting a comment on Stacey’s website, so here goes…

I just read the post about Eva’s loss. I only met her once, but I can understand the pain she must be going through right now. I have lost an Aunt and Uncle in relatively similar conditions, (although they died before I was born) and my parents have told me about them. But even so, it is so sad to lose someone at such a young age, when they have their whole life before them. I will also pass my condolences on to Eva.

I haven’t been climbing much lately, mostly due to my training for my black belt in November, but it sounds like things are going well in the climbing circuit without me ;). Stacey- I liked your little post on the soccer camps that you did. The bit about the kids cutting corners around the flags- that definitely sounds like something kids would do. I am looking forward?to being at the 4th Climb-a-thon in December, although I would like it to be at Sunnyvale even if it is a lot closer for most people in Belmont. Oh well. Anyway, I hope that it goes well wherever the location. Whoops, its 30 minutes past my bedtime, so I guess I’d better sign off.

-Josh

Condolences to Eva

Hi Stacey. I’m really sorry about Eva’s nieces and sister-in-law. That is really sad. My condolences to her. Life is precious; I hope she is well.

Congrats on the coaching job. Sounds like fun. When I was young I played little league soccer for a little bit. I was really bad 🙂

HI

HI Stacey

Thanks so much for dinner the other night. I ate myself silly. That ice cream isn’t going to make my harness fit any better, or the 5.10s any easier.

I read your recent post about how we want to be remembered, and I liked the reminder to remember to enjoy the here and now, and make time for what is important. lately it feels like my life is not my own, rather it is controlled by nursing school. I know it is only a temporary thing, but I am not willing to give up everything even for school. the trick is always finding a balance.

Thanks for not giving up on me

See you at the gym..I’ll be the one falling off the 5.10c’s!!!

A Gift of Life

Hi Stacey,

We went camping this past weekend–you know how we rough it.’We had a campsite right on the river and saw many pods of dolphin. We also saw some manatee. The river was a wonderful 72 degrees. It was a fun time with Sherry and her family. The girls got a National Parks Monopoly game at Mammoth Cave when we were on our way home from Kentucky and we had fun with that. Bonnieli went to jail nearly every time she passed that space. It was almost impossible to land on it so much. She was a good sport about it, but as a result of spending most of the game in jail she didn’t end up with any property or money. In this game, you put up tents instead of houses, and get ranger stations instead of hotels.

You won’t believe this, but when we checked in upon arriving at the campground there was a woman wearing a Lewisville, Looievile, etc. t-shirt. and another woman in the office had a green donate life bracelet. Of course, that started quite a conversation. The woman with the bracelet was the mother of an organ donor. Her son was 16 years old and a website is set up for him and his organ recipients (www.agiftoflife.org) The mother’s name is Candy Heaper. She was at the Transplant Games, and is already planning her trip to Pittsburgh in 2008. She is saving $$ for the trip. She has a jar in her house that people have to put their change in when they visit. She said if they don’t have any change, they have to put in a dollar. Hmm, creative fund raising. She has met 5 of the organ recipients and said it has been very helpful for her healing process. I talked of you, of course, and told her that you hadn’t met your donor family yet and her advice is that you should do it.

I told her about the photos of you with your guardian angel. She said she has a picture of her son with the light on his shoulder. He was sitting at a table with the blind closed and the light came through the blind. She said she took her daughter’s picture on the same chair, same blind closed and there was no light.

I keep missing your phone calls, but I re-play your voice messages again and again just to hear you.

Didn’t we have an awesome time in Kentucky’ That was really special. All those cousins!! It is too bad you didn’t have time to hike the trails. Sherry, the girls and I couldn’t get enough of the hiking. Well, one trip we could have skipped…the one where Sherry and I got totally lost, and soaking wet in the downpour. That didn’t stop us, however, we even did more trails at Mammoth Cave. You will see some of the trail photos when I get all my pictures over to the Kodak Gallery.

Love you, Auntie Marion
